Okay so you know about the ken let’s talk about the “barbie.” Karla Homolka met Paul Bernardo in 1987 when she was 17 and he was 23. (What do you think about this age gap hmm?) She was the oldest of three kids ( but clearly she wasn’t the ideal big sis). When she met Paul Bernardo it was a match made in hell (see what I did there? 😂) They had an instant connection which amplified once they realized they both shared the same dark and twisted fantasies. 

Their relationship quickly turned into the whole master / slave scenario ( but keep in mind Karla was a willing slave.) While they dated she knew her name was raping women in Scarborough and she was more than okay with it. 

They soon became engaged ( because that’s what we need, two sick fucks getting married and procreating.) Ironically, three years into their relationship her man was getting bored. According to him Karla wasn’t a virgin when they met and so he desired a virgin. He then started paying extra attention to his fiancé’s 15 year old sister, Tammy. 

Of course his barbie didn’t object. She told him that she wanted to give him her SISTER’S VIRGINITY for CHRISTMAS!!! 

On December 23, 1990, the Homolka family had a Christmas party. When their parents went to bed Karla encouraged her underage sister to stay up and have a few drinks with her. (By now I’m sure you guessed it!) She spiked her sister’s drinks with animal anesthetics (she stole it from the veterinarian clinic she worked at.) As Tammy laid unconscious her “sister” held a cloth soaked in Halothane over her sister’s mouth and raped her with her fiancé while VIDEOTAPING it. 

During the ordeal poor Tammy started choking up vomit and the killer couple started to panic. 

They made sure to clean up any evidence of their involvement before calling an ambulance. Tammy was pronounced dead at the hospital. The chemical burn on her face was noted but the anesthetics weren’t detected in her system. Her death was ruled an accident from choking on her own vomit due to alcohol poisoning. 

You would think the death of her sister would slow things down… it didn’t. Karla became a full blown accomplice and in 1991 she lured a teenager she met at work to her home. They girl was drugged, abused and videotaped. She survived with no memory of what took place. (Sounds familiar?) 

The killer couple got married on June 29, 1991. On this day concrete blocks containing body parts were found in Lake Gibson by a couple canoeing. It was the body of 14 year old Leslie Mahaffy. She disappeared on June 15 and had been kidnapped and abused for several days by the couple. (Isn’t this something? Two weeks before their wedding they kidnapped a girl and on the day of their wedding she was found. They were really trying to have a happily ever after knowing how sick they were.) 

On April 16, 1992, they kidnapped and killed 15 year old Kristen French. They left her hair  partially shaved and her battered body in a ditch. Police then realized that there was a connection between the murders. After a sketch was released some friends and coworkers reported Paul Bernardo as it favored him. They also reported his obsession with violence. (Shout out to those people who didn’t keep quiet.) 

In January of 1993, Karla left her dear husband after he beat the crap out of her with a flashlight. Two months later Bernardo’s DNA matched that of the Scarborough rapist and he was immediately put under surveillance. He was then arrest in February 1993. 

Little miss “barbie” then got a lawyer and managed to score a plea deal for testifying against Paul Bernardo. She landed a 12 year sentence which then led to an uproar when the videotapes of the attacks were retrieved. They proved that Homolka was indeed a willing accomplice and not an innocent victim as she proclaimed. 

She went on to serve her time and was released in 2005. She remarried and had some kids. (Eww… not to the kids but to anyone willing to marry her.) 

Paul Bernardo was found guilty of all charges and was sentenced to life in prison for rape, murder and kidnapping. 

He applied for parole in 2018 after doing 25 years in prison and was denied within 30 minutes of deliberation. He’s never even apologized, he’s shown no remorse and wants to be free? I don’t think so. For once i whole heartedly agree with the justice system.
